A horse residing in Larimer County has been diagnosed with West Nile virus (WNV); this is the first case of WNV in Colorado horses confirmed in 2018. The Colorado State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, in Fort Collins, confirmed the case on Aug. 15.

Paul S. McGrath, 76, of Kalispell, passed away Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018, at the Health Center in Kalispell. From 1966 to 1970 he attended Colorado State University and earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
Dr. Clayton Watkins, owner of VetMed Consultants, earned his doctorate of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Colorado State University in 1988. In 1990, He was an early adopter of using ultrasound and endoscopy in veterinary medicine.
