The Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Award Committee is delighted to announce the 2022 CVMBS Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Award for faculty. The award recognizes the achievement of faculty who have served to promote justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the college. A $1,000 award will be given to the awardee and will be presented at this year’s fall forum.

The CVMBS awards committee is requesting nominations for CVMBS faculty who meet the following criteria:

• Notable achievements in the last 5 years that promote justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in their teaching, research, and service in CVMBS
• Notable current activities and plans that aim at improving issues in justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in this teaching, research, and service in CVMBS
• Continued growing and learning with respect to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion

Nominees will be contacted after the nomination deadline to submit the following documents:

1. A CV with emphasis on activities pertaining to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion
2. A letter describing their achievements and activities related to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching, learning, service, and continued learning within and for CVMBS. Letters should also include a breakdown of their contract in terms percentages dedicated to teaching, research, and service.

Nominations with the name, title, and email address of the nominee should be sent to Naomi Nishi. The deadline for nominations is October 3, 2022 5 p.m. Please make sure that the nominee is aware of the nomination before emailing. Self-nominations are acceptable. Please also take note that although faculty can be nominated for more than one award category they cannot be awarded more than one CVMBS award.
