The Arterial Blood Gas at Altitude Study at the Colorado State University James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital is looking for healthy dogs, especially brachycephalic (short-muzzled, flat-faced) breeds — English bulldogs, French bulldogs, and pugs — to participate in this research that will show veterinarians if dogs breathe differently in high altitude environments.
May 20 is international Clinical Trials Day. At Colorado State University, researchers conduct hundreds of clinical trials that yield important insights for human and animal health.

Dr. Tim Holt was named Food Animal Educator of the Year 2022 for his outstanding presentations at the Western Veterinary Conference. Attendees enjoyed his up-to date scientific information and enthusiastic presentations ranging from from PAP testing guidelines and pathophysiology of right heart congestive failure in bovine medicine to a “day in the life of a typical food animal veterinarian.”

Dr. Leslie Ball, age 95, of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022. He was a professor in Clinical Sciences until his retirement in the 1990’s.
Dr. Nicholas H. Booth, age 98, peacefully passed away in the presence of family at his home in Jacksonville, FL on 3/28/22. He was dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University from 1966-1971.
