The University of Kentucky Gluck Equine Research Center announced the 2022 inductees to the Equine Research Hall of Fame. Honoree Dr. Lisa Fortier earned her bachelor’s degree and doctor of veterinary medicine degree (’91) from Colorado State University.
Dr. Nicole Ehrhart, who was not involved in the Dog Aging Project study, called the new research “wonderful confirmation of something that we know across all species: that exercise is good for healthy aging and that lifelong habits of exercise can be preventive for Alzheimer’s disease and other cognitive issues.”

Eddie Kendall (Microbiology, ’18) currently serves as a graduate research assistant working on issues related to weapons of mass destruction at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, while pursuing dual master’s degrees from Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey in California and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in Russia.
Dr. Richard “Rich” Kiely (DVM, ’76) is a practicing veterinarian with extensive experience in equine medicine and large-animal livestock medicine. He has consulted extensively across the West, drawing on personal knowledge of ranching and farming.
