Bovine Veterinarian: K-State Honors Dr. Keith A. Roehr with Alumni Recognition Award

“We are looking for things that help dogs with arthritis,” said Dr. Felix Duerr, an assistant professor at the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
Maggie will travel to Fort Collins for the surgery, and veterinarians will also take a biopsy to confirm that the cancer is osteosarcoma. If it is, Maggie's case will become part of a clinical trial at Colorado State University that is exploring the use of immunotherapy in dogs with this type of cancer.

One Cure is a project led by the Flint Animal Cancer Center at Colorado State University. The One Cure program is founded on the principle that cancer affects all creatures and that treatment breakthroughs come through collaboration between scientists and doctors working with people and animals.
"This is a real honor to carry the One Cure paint scheme and spread the word on all the good work Colorado State's Flint Animal Cancer Center is doing," Clint Bowyer said.
Deker, a search-and-rescue dog from Iowa, was treated at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Colorado State University. After disc surgery, he was able to continue his search work and his therapy visits.
The animal lover, who is in his early 30s, is from Thousand Oaks, California in the United States. Having studied at Colorado State University, he now works as a vet and treats a range of creatures, including dogs, cats and turtles.
