Ocala, Florida-based equine veterinarian Richard “Chip” Estes, DVM, a 1974 graduate of Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine, was recognized with the American Association of Equine Practitioners’ (AAEP) 2018 Distinguished Educator – Mentor Award for the continuous support he has shown his colleagues throughout his career and into his retirement.

Well-known Alamosa resident and veterinarian Dr. Benjamin “Ben” H. Konishi, 92 died October 29, 2018 at the Evergreen Nursing Home in Alamosa. Following his graduation from the CSU College of Veterinary Medicine, he moved to the San Luis Valley.
