Naomi Nishi’s emphasis on adult education – and recognizing that adults bring unique perspectives and experiences with them into any context – will be a crucial asset as she approaches her new role at CSU.
"It is so important to have conversations upfront to ensure the culture is open to providing accommodations and that it is supportive,” Dr. Melinda Frye said. It is also important for faculty members, staff members, and students to understand that accommodations create equal opportunities, not advantages.
Thirteen students nominated by faculty mentors were awarded the CVMBS Diversity Scholarship to further their work on specific research, outreach or professional development projects for the summer of 2021.

Dr. Morgan Miller (DVM, '20), is an associate veterinarian at the Deerfield Animal Care Center in Deerfield, Illinois. She served as president of the CSU student chapters of Veterinarians as One Inclusive Community for Empowerment. She is a member of the Pride VMC Executive Board, serving as the Pride SVMC adviser.

Tatiana is a fresh new face in the world of veterinary medicine. She hopes to improve the mental health of vet students through combating mental health problems in the veterinary world, and by encouraging vet students to strike a healthy balance between school and their personal lives.
