Colorado State University alumnus Kjell Lindgren commanded a successful launch to the International Space Station on a SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft atop a Falcon 9 rocket on April 27.
The first cohort of third-year medical students arrived in Fort Collins in June 2020 to complete their clinical training with the new Colorado State University medical school campus and spearhead service-learning projects.
Students in the Community Practice program at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences get hands-on experience working with animals outside of a clinical setting, while students from the School of Social Work gain skills providing assistance and resources to the pet owner.

The move is a first step in establishing a CU School of Medicine branch in partnership with CSU.
“At the new medical school branch, students will learn in and from the local community alongside other health professionals,” Dr. Suzanne Brandenburg, professor of medicine at the School of Medicine on CU’s Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, said in a statement.

The University of Colorado School of Medicine is in the planning stages of establishing a medical school branch in Fort Collins.
