CSU undergraduates Nizhoni Hatch and Claire Walther are finalists for the prestigious Harry S. Truman Scholarship, a highly competitive graduate fellowship program for students pursuing careers in government and public service.
The video captured student reactions when they first learned they had received scholarships. "Oh my god, I thought I was in trouble .. thank you so much!" said scholarship recipient Erin Sunshine through happy tears.
“My dream is to have a positive impact on how we treat our feline patients, with a special interest in treating and managing cats with chronic kidney disease,” said Amanda Diaz, a third-year CSU veterinary student who received the 2022 clinical research scientist scholarship.
Nizhoni Hatch in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and Aidan Lyde in the College of Liberal Arts were among the 55 students from across the country to be named Udall Scholars this year.
CSU is sending three of its own abroad as part of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, the State Department’s flagship international exchange program.
The National Science Foundation recently awarded one of the country’s top STEM fellowships to seven CSU graduate students and two recent graduates.
