He was commissioned a lieutenant in the US Army. He majored in animal husbandry at Colorado State University and returned after his military service to complete his doctorate in veterinary medicine.
Ryan Brooks Brown passed away at his home on April 9, 2018 at the age of 46. He attended Colorado State University, graduating from CSU Veterinary School in 1999.
Dr. Tim Hackett is DVM, a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, a professor, a father, and is currently the Director of the Vet Teaching Hospital at CSU. After 25 years working in veterinary emergency care, he’s definitely gotten the hang of balance and longevity in the job.

Dr. William V. Lumb passed away on Saturday, February 3. He graduated from Kansas State University in Veterinary Medicine in 1943. In 1963, Bill was made director of the surgical laboratory, a new facility on CSU's Foothills Campus, where he developed a graduate teaching and research program in surgery and anesthesiology.
The CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital holds its 39th annual Open House 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 21.
Dr. Melinda Frye is not only a veterinarian, but is also a Ph.D., board-certified internal specialist, the first female Associate Dean of Veterinary Academic and Student Affairs at CSU, and is on the board of the local humane society. Interestingly, she started her career as a nurse for humans.
In the fall of 1945, he was accepted into the freshman veterinary class at Colorado A&M, now known as Colorado State University. In 1948 he received his Bachelor of Science degree and in 1949 received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
Dr. Allison Brekke has joined Aspen Grove Veterinary Care in Fort Collins as an associate veterinarian. Brekke earned her doctor of veterinary medicine degree at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
