CSU alum Dr. Nicole Nemeth, a wildlife pathologist at the University of Georgia and her colleagues found a high rate of bald eagle nest failure (no surviving chicks) and adult deaths, with dead birds brought to the lab and confirmed to be ravaged by the H.P.A.I. virus. “It was very sad and alarming,” Dr. Nemeth said.
As an integrative veterinarian, she is on a mission to provide a balanced approach of both science-based medical practice and the art of healing. For this University of Hawai’i and CSU veterinary school graduate, making animals feel better includes things like acupuncture, rehabilitation, bodywork, real food, and so much more.

“The new building will also have an expanded primary care clinic, which will provide additional experience for veterinary students throughout their curriculum but especially during those years where they’re learning the hands-on components of veterinary medicine,” associate CSU professor Dr. Kelly Hall said.
Stephanie McGrath, associate professor in neurology and neurosurgery at Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, is looking into CBD treatments for dogs with chronic pain: arthritis in older dogs, anxiety and separation anxiety, epilepsy, dementia and brain cancer.
Six CSU researchers from the Colleges of Health and Human Sciences and Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences recently took part in the 10th annual CCTSI Summit which had the theme of “Research in Health Equity and Social Determinants."
