Several Colorado State University students were recently honored by one of the country’s top public service scholarship programs.
More than 250 high school students from Northern Colorado heard Colorado State University and Fort Collins experts talk during the 2023 Climate Leadership Summit organized by Poudre School District students, some of whom are enrolled at Futures Lab. The event drew participants from at least 10 districts.

Personal tragedy brought Luke Davis to CSU. While life dealt him a difficult hand, he persevered and created a community here, learning to process grief and leaning on friends and mentors to help see him through.

University of California-Davis (average rating of 4.5) was ranked first, Cornell University in Ithaca, New York was third, Ohio State ranked fourth and North Carolina State and the University of Pennsylvania tied for fifth.

President Amy Parsons presented awards to five employees and one advisory council at the April 20 Classified Personnel Council meeting in the Lory Student Center.
“The amount of water and energy used by a research lab is astronomical,” said Rebecca Staudenmaier, lab manager and research associate with the Dobos Lab. “If we can be sustainable, it lowers costs, it can leverage grants, and it’s just the right thing to do. The support of the University makes it easier.”
