Baxter Black, the country’s best-known cowboy poet, whose witty, big-hearted verse about cowpokes, feed lots and wide-open vistas elevated the tradition of Western doggerel to something of a folk art, died on June 10 at his home, a ranch outside Benson, Ariz. He was 77.

The percentage of women in the veterinary profession has been on a decadeslong increasing trajectory, recently reaching 64%, according to the 2020 AVMA Census of Veterinarians. That’s up from 54% in 2012. Temple Grandin spoke at the meeting.

Undergraduate students coming from in state will see a 2% increase in their tuition, while students from out of state will see a 3% increase. In Fort Collins, graduate students will not see an increase in their tuition — and graduate student workers will receive a 3% raise — though professional veterinary medicine students will see a 2% increase.
