Biological science grad credits MIP mentors

Sarah Lion is grateful for three people in particular: Liz Hysen, her academic counselor; and University Distinguished Teaching Scholar Erica Suchman and Marcela Henao-Tamayo, faculty members in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology. Henao-Tamayo employed Lion as a lab assistant, allowing Lion to continue working while completing her biology degree.

Percy Walker's program in computer information systems required being part of several group projects with Hillary Noble, who was pursuing the same degree while working as web coordinator for the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. “The way Hillary, her family and friends adopted me was truly amazing,” Walker said. “They were as proud of me as my own family. I’ll never forget that."
