George W. Cooper graduated from the Colorado Agricultural College veterinary school in 1918, and joined the inaugural group of faculty when the veterinary school at Tuskegee Institute was established.
Neil Bryson Ericson, 27, passed away on February 8. He graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science; and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University.
Dr. Jeremiah Easley’s career path has come full circle. As a young boy, he lived with his family in Fort Collins while his father completed a sabbatical at Colorado State University.
Sarah Lion is grateful for three people in particular: Liz Hysen, her academic counselor; and University Distinguished Teaching Scholar Erica Suchman and Marcela Henao-Tamayo, faculty members in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology. Henao-Tamayo employed Lion as a lab assistant, allowing Lion to continue working while completing her biology degree.
Kirty Krieger says she decided to major in microbiology in the same way Harry Potter decided to become a wizard. “The major chose me,” Krieger says, after she tried on several other hats at Colorado State University.
Percy Walker's program in computer information systems required being part of several group projects with Hillary Noble, who was pursuing the same degree while working as web coordinator for the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. “The way Hillary, her family and friends adopted me was truly amazing,” Walker said. “They were as proud of me as my own family. I’ll never forget that."

Once a building contractor, Dr. Jon Geller started veterinary school at the age of 41. Now an emergency veterinarian who is board-certified in canine and feline practice, he has started several emergency clinics in Northern Colorado.
