Parshley won election to the Olympia city council last November. She earned her Ph.D. in biochemistry from Oregon Health & Science University, her veterinarian degree from Colorado State University and practiced in Michigan, Houston, Texas, and Los Angeles, California.
“The real focus of some of the work there is to get people excited about careers in veterinary health,” dean Mark Stetter said. “We want to use that as a platform to get inner-city kids excited about going to college.”
