Dr. Goodrich, who earned her veterinary degree at Illinois in 1991, will deliver the keynote address at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine’s Research Day on April 27.
The Street Dog Coalition, founded in 2017 by CSU alum Dr. Jon Geller, provides free medical care and related services to pets of people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. At these clinic days, vets will offer physical exams, vaccinations, parasite control, spay/neuter vouchers, pet supplies and more.
Dr. Anna Fails and Dr. Noa Roman-Muniz, both alumnae of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, will be honored at the 2022 CSU Best Teacher Awards March 30.
Maddi Funk, instructional design and media specialist in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, nominated this unit and said that anytime she has called on them, “they are always so kind and quick to help, and I truly appreciate it!”
"Pythons are ambush hunters," said Matthew Johnston, an associate professor of avian, exotic and zoological medicine at Colorado State University. "They will take down whatever happens to walk in front of them when they are hungry."
Grants went to another six educational projects, including “CSU-UAF Hub Outpost Project: Educating for veterinary success in rural communities,” Colorado State University working with the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.
Surgeons will talk to the audience and answer questions. CSU senior veterinary students will take two-week rotations there.
In January, the Dumb Friends League will open a new veterinary hospital on the CSU Spur campus at the National Western Center in north Denver. It is the first veterinary hospital in the nation to put medical care for pets on full display for visitors. Nearly 100 CSU veterinary students will train each year with the Dumb Friends League.
Spur is focused entirely on public education, research, and community outreach. And its programs center on food, water, and animal and human health.
Colorado State University and the National Western Stock Show have partnered since 1906 to boost education about food and agriculture. Now they enter a new era with the opening of CSU Spur at the National Western Center.
